The Sporting Hounds Foundation of Tryon (SHFT), was created to help not for profit kennels maintain healthy packs of working hounds as well as care for hounds no longer capable of keeping up with the rigors of a working pack. SHFT is a 501 (c) 3 charitable organization designed only for these wonderful animals.
There are over 150 sanctioned hunting clubs in the United States. Clubs maintain packs that can number up to 100 hounds. But disease, age, unsuitability and financial burdens result in the inability of clubs sustaining the lives of these hounds.
Sporting Hounds Foundation of Tryon accepts tax-deductible donations to support its mission and hosts a unique annual event … the Rig Gig horse trailer parking competition to generate funds.
